MakeaMatch
Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 26, 2026
Overview

MakeaMatch helps people connect for activities (such as sports) through play requests, match requests, playmates (friends), and groups. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect
  • Account information: email/username and authentication details (handled through our login system).
  • Profile information: display name, optional handle, optional bio, and preferences you choose to provide.
  • Activity data: sports/ratings, availability windows, play requests (intents), match requests, group membership, and invites.
  • Usage data: basic logs needed to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service (for example, error logs).
How we use your information
  • To provide core features such as PlayFeed, match requests, playmates, and groups.
  • To personalize what you see (for example, showing relevant requests and group content you have access to).
  • To maintain safety and integrity (for example, supporting blocking and preventing abuse).
  • To maintain, debug, and improve the product (including aggregate KPI reporting).
Visibility & sharing

Some content is visible based on the privacy options you select when you post: Public, Playmates-only, and/or Group-only. Group content is visible to group members and (for private groups) may be visible to invited users with a pending invite.

Safety features
  • Blocking: you can block users to prevent interactions and visibility where supported.
  • Group controls: group owners/admins can manage membership and invites.
Data retention

We may retain activity records (such as requests and matches) for product operations, safety, and reporting. We do not intentionally delete historical records simply because time has passed; instead, older items may be hidden from active views while still retained for account history and system analytics.

Cookies & similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies required for login sessions, security, and basic site functionality. If you disable cookies, some features (including login) may not work.

Third-party services

The service may rely on third-party providers for hosting, database, and security. These providers process information only as needed to provide their services to us.

Your choices
  • Update your profile information in your account/profile settings.
  • Control visibility of your posts using Public/Playmates/Group privacy options.
  • Block users you do not want to interact with.
